CHIEF OF POLICE


The Town of Newington, New Hampshire is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Police Chief. The Police Department operates under the administrative direction of the Newington Police Commission and is currently staffed by 10 full-time officers, 3 part-time officers and one civilian employee. 

The Chief of Police is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and staffing all activities of the department and the training of its personnel. Through the Police Chief the Department is responsible for the effective delivery of police services to the community. 

A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Police Administration or related field is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement and crime prevention, or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have the ability to receive required certification by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council. 

Salary range: $76,760 to $93,930
